Washington joins the ERP movement: what producers need to know


On May 17, Washington State became the 7th U.S. state to pass extended producer responsibility (EPR) legislation for packaging. Governor Bob Ferguson signed SB 5284 law(Recycling Reform Act), marking a major turning point in the reform of the recycling system. From now on, the entire West Coast of the United States – California, Oregon and Washington – is covered by an EPR program for packaging.
